Privacy notice

How this website handles personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Last updated 8 September 2026.

Who we are

AHDev Pty (Ltd) (“AHDev”, “we”, “us”) is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website, ahdev.co.za. You can reach our information officer via the contact form on our homepage.

What we collect and why

Contact form

When you send a message through the contact form we collect your name, email address, the division your message concerns, the message itself, the time it was sent and your IP address. We use this to respond to your enquiry and to protect the form against abuse. Providing this information is voluntary, but we cannot reply without an email address.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting server records standard technical information for each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and a timestamp. We use these logs to keep the site secure and to diagnose problems.

Cookies

This website sets a single strictly necessary session cookie (ahdev_sess) to protect the contact form against forged submissions. It contains no personal information and expires when you close your browser. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this site, and we do not load third-party fonts, scripts or embeds.

Legal basis

We process contact-form information because you have asked us to respond to you, and server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

Sharing

Your information is stored with our web-hosting and email providers, who process it on our behalf under their own security commitments. Messages about a specific division may be forwarded to the team that runs that division so they can help you. We will otherwise only disclose personal information where the law requires it.

Retention

Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for up to two years afterwards, so we can refer back to earlier correspondence. Server logs are rotated by our hosting provider, typically within 90 days.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, or to stop processing it. To exercise these rights, contact us via the contact form on our homepage. If you are not satisfied with our response you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, the contact form is protected against forged and automated submissions, and access to stored messages is limited to the people who need it to respond to you.

We will update this notice when our practices change and show the date of the latest revision at the top of the page.
